I have trying to find books online. I would rather not be suggested to any peer to peer sites or programs.

Was kind of looking for a site that lets you download the books in pdf form w/o the need of installing other programs in your pc.

Not a problem. Try Project Gutenberg (http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page). You have to sign up for a free account.

Call your local library. They likely have a wide variety of books you can download for free.
