Paralegal Experience is not really considered by law schools in the admittance process. However, working as a paralegal or taking a paralegal course is a great way to find out if you really want to become a lawyer.

I went to paralegal school and worked as a paralegal and realized that I did not want to be a lawyer.

Paralegal experience can be a big help in law school because you get experience in the skills you need in law school.

Paralegal expereince can be a big help after you complete law school because paralegals have to know a lot about practical aspects of working in a law office whereas law school concentrates on the theory of the law.

Good luck.

Paralegal studies can help a lot with law school because paralegals do most of the work that lawyers should be doing.

It may not help you get into school, but it will certainly help you when you do get in (classes and homework). I wouldn't take a year off just to work, though--go straight through to law school.
