I know this is a reallly embarrasing question but I dont know how to ask my mom if I can wear a thong. It would be really awkward if i say it wrong so please help! Shes usually very strict about things and she wont let me get a myspace but anyways the point is that i need help asking her. Im afraid she might say no. I went to victorias secret with her and it was awkward and she was pushing me towards the clothes and i just wanted to ask her if i could buy thongs there. I didnt though. SO please help. and if she does say no should i sneak it? But she washes my clothes and she will find it. And by the way Im 13 going on 14 and I really want some! so help please!

Let me answer for your mom: No.

If you don't know how to ask your mom, then I think you already know her answer.

Being honest with your mother is the best thing to do. When I was ready for a thong-at your age- the reason why I wanted one was because I didnt like panty lines. The underwear that I already had would bunch up and show above my jeans. I finally decided that it was time when one day I was sitting down at a table and leaning forward when a young man walked behind me and said "hanes her way-nice" just because you wear a thong does not always mean that you want people to see it. I didnt want the panty lines and I didnt want people to see my grannies either. Just be honest with your mother, she can only respect you for that. And she might say no right away...but in time she will realize that you are growing up and it is time you make your own clothing decisions.

i'm 13 going on 14 also and i was going to ask the same thing. i know how you feel and the other people who are being negative need to shut the **** up because its a personal choice to wear a thong and i respect that. the best way, i think is to come flat out about it and just say mom, i'm getting older and my needs change. can i get a thong? hope that helps.

Look baby doll girl's who wear thongs and show it off are "Trashy" You do not need that kind of attention from anyone! Besides that little girl thongs cause yeast infections! and they are not comfortable! If you want attention just tell people you do not wear underwear! you mise well not wear any underwear if you wanna try and wear thongs! besides that the string will ride up your butt all day long and that's not a very comforting feeling! "string up the butt"+"yeast infections"? Are you still sure you wanna wear them? lol It doesn't matter anyways b/c if you want a thong go out and buy you one! One more thing for the chick who said "thongs are for showing" that's not true MANY PROFESSIONAL WOMAN WEAR "THONGS" SO THE LINING OF THE UNDERWEAR DOESN'T SHOW THROUGH THEIR CLOTHES!

Just tell her that there are some clothes that are worn best with thongs----to avoid those horrible panty lines. There are also some really cute seamless undies, they're like low rides but have no seams and just as cute.

And if she says no, well then sorry girl just suck it up and wait a few years. Trust me, there is no BIG deal to thongs. I even stopped wearing them as much.

why do you want them?
because you find them more comfortable?
well, do you have a favorite skirt or dress then shows the line of your regular underwear when you were it? if so, tell her that you want to buy a couple thongs, because when you where that special dress, skirt, or even khaki pants, everyone can see your underwear line. that's why a lot of people DO wear a thong. maybe she'll understand.
or just tell her you're curious.

Is it really worth the stress? whats so important about a thong at 13? I get the feeling that if your afraid to ask her, then you may be wanting them for the wrong reasons.
You can get fun and pretty normal underwear, you dont need a thong.

You're only 13-14ish, you really don't need one, but if you still rele want one, then next time you go to vicky s, just go strait out and ask: mom, could i try a thong. and if she says no, then so be it......it shouldn't be a big deal if she says no. if not thongs, then go with the brazilian cut panties...just as cute, they show just the right amount, and are way more comfy.

I know that when you are thirteen (been there...), you are curious about trying new things, but thongs are really gross and uncomfortable! I wouldn't wear one, apparently they can give you infections.

But...if you really want to try one, just buy them yourself without asking your mom.

Just ask her in a general way how she feels about thong unders. After she gets done with her rant, you'll have your answer.
