This sounds like a lifetime movie. Since she already has the job, it will be hard to displace her. You need to prove her incompetence. Also create a file for her in HR with the specifics of times and dates of who was originally hired, and the circumstances of that person not taking the job. You can't submit anything potentially libelous here though. If you really don't care what happens to your boss, go to his wife either directly or indirectly. That will take away her blackmail ammunition. If the ammunition is gone and the whole affair becomes open. Both will probably lose their jobs. If you want to somehow report this to get justice, the wife will find out eventually anyway. If I were in your position, I wouldn't pay any attention to it until her presence becomes a distraction or makes your workplace unproductive.

My boss is a female. So no. The owner of the newspaper (where I work) is in his 80's. So definitely NO.

nope because the favors will never stop and he would expect more then probly turn around and talk crap!
Not to mention if he tells others then they will expect you to put out for them too!
I guess if you want a rep for how you got your postions unfairly and with out the use of real business skills...
