Hi all! I got my positive pregnancy test this morning and my period isn't even officially late yet!

My question is: if you get a super dark positive on your pregnancy test before you are even late for your period, does that mean you have a good chance of having twins?

I am kinda worried because I am 13 days past ovulation today and my test I took this morning was after I had already peed 3 times and drank a whole bunch so my pee was probably pretty diluted and the positive line was still super super dark!

I am a very small girl and I don't think my body can handle twins, so I'm hoping this isn't a sign....

Thanks!

no it doesn't mean you are going to have twins! lol! It just means that you are definately pregnant!

Its possible that because it came up quickly and darkly that you may be slightly further along (maybe a week) than you thought. But still, if you're pregnant and leave it at least 10dpo then it will show straight away under any circumstances usually.

best of luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!

I dont think there is any way for a HPT to tell you that you are having twins but I could be wrong.

Also if your body was unable to deal with a twin pregnancy you wouldnt be able to concieve and carry twins to term.

Anyway CONGRATULATIONS and I would recomend that you read Ina Mae Gaskin's books Spirtutual Midwifery and Ina Mae's Guide to Childbirth or at least the first half of each book they do a wonderful job or reminding women that childbirth is a natural process and out bodies are perfectly capable of doing the job if we keep medical intervention to a minimum. Oh and dont miss the appendix section of both books which have the statistics for the Farm Midwifery Centres early births these are VERY impressive especially when you compare them to hospital births.

Yes definitely. During my last two pregnancies I tested positive almost a week before my period was due. Some women can just get a positive result earlier than others. Congrats! :)

A dark result would not indicate twins. The numbers of the GHC can not determine if you will have twins. It can be an indicator but nothing but an ultra sound can tell you for sure that you are having twins. I know this because I have had a set of twins. And just to let you know I knew a woman who barely weighted 100 pounds and she had a healthy set of twins. So anything is possible.

No it dosnt mean your going to have twins. The positvie sign just means your pregnant and the pregnacy hormone was detected by the test. They just tell you to take the test with your first urine because that is when the hormone will be stronger because your urine is consitrated from not peeing all night long. You can take the test at any time really. I was told you can get a false neg but rarly you will get a false positve test. Congrats on your pregnancy.

There is no way that the test can determine twins. But it is positive so Congrats, you are definately pregnant. Your doctor will be able to tell you if you are having twins in about 4 months.

The hpt and having twins have nothing to do with each other. Congrats! You're pregnant!

How light or dark the line on the test is has nothing to do with how many babies you have, or what the sex is!
