I think a better wording would be "those with the least personal sacrifice have the loudest voice".

What?
Pro elite and pro war?
You have got to be smoking some good stuff. It is obvious that you think that a rich man doesn't deserve to be rich, no matter how he may have worked for his money.
Its also obvious that you have never been in a war zone. You see those who have been under fire are anything but Pro War.
You also don't understand that there are plenty of "elite" in the military, and that they go fight the war same as the poor man who has the guts to sign up.
You do have much to learn.

No, we can't. Just because we think this Iraq war is necessary doesn't mean we're "pro-war" anymore than being "pro-choice" makes you "pro-abortion." Further, not being of the elite, I am not in favor of any pro-elite policies, not that I know exactly what they might be.
The reason, currently, that the rich kids don't fight in this war is because they had no need to join the military. Most people who volunteer for the military can't find a job outside of it like my 3 brothers-in-law. Rich kids have good connections in business, Chelsea Clinton, for instance who earns 6 figures on Wall Street or they don't need money desperately like so many of the rest of us.

Hi, I happen to be a close to the conservative "pro-life" community and can answer your question and will try to be as un-biased as possible. Those who are pro-life tend to build their ethics from the well-known Judeau-Christian codes from both the Torah and the New Testament. Most use principals from the Bible to make their choices. This is not a new concept at all. In fact, Christian principles have been affecting people's choices for some 2000 years (whether or not they realize it). Anyway, the Bible says that it is wrong to murder, as well as to not take advantage of the weak. Therefore, killing vulnerable, unborn children is wrong. Regarding war, there is far more disagreement within the conservative community, though generally conservatives desire to come to the aid of the needy (a prominent Biblical theme) and to love your neighbor as yourself. Therefore, they are willing to sacrifice to defend their neighbors from violence and to help those in need accross the globe. It is true that conservative individuals donate more to charities all over the globe than liberal individuals who tend to see that as the responsibility of governments. Comparing abortion to war is not a very fair to the conservative community, but I undersatnd where the asker's confusion comes from. I hope this helps answer your question. Many conservatives do not even realize where their ethics come from, but the principles are clearly the ones which have been a part of the American schema for centuries.

Absolutely. If you are a selfish greedy person who thinks government should work for the rich and that the rest are there to struggle along and get crumbs that trickle down to them, it makes perfect sense that you think its ok to be a warmongering country, since those that will go fight will be the poor. If you hate the poor, or even the middle class, and want to send their jobs to china or have mexicans take their jobs here at home, then you won't mind at all sending the poor's kids to die in a war of choice.

Im middle class, a veteran, I recently lost a brother in Afganistan and I support the war. Freedom comes at a high price. I feel the elitists are the ones who stand around debating the morality of our troops actions and claiming that they support the troops while atempting to eliminate their funding. Armchair quarterbacks who never played the game.
