I have a toshiba laptop with 256 mb RAM. I would like to add more memory. Is all ddr memory the same or do I need something specific?

Thanks.

2x512mb ddr SODIMM should work great. DDR-400 or PC-3200 would be the easiest to find and cheaper too. In case your laptop supports a lower speed grade, ddr-400 would still work. Your laptop's BIOS will just automatically clock memory to default settings.

Some laptops use DDR some DDR2. I would go to the Crucial.com site to see what kind of RAM you have and search www.pricewatch.com for good deals.
