Mike Lowell's contract with the Red Sox expired, but he signed a new 3 year deal with Boston a couple of days ago. He resigned as in signed another contract, not resigned as in quit.
Mystique & aura were two characteristics people sometime attribute to the Yankees. A couple of years ago Schilling said they sounded like stripper names. The writer is trying to say that the Yankee mystique and aura are gone.
Brian Cashman is the GM of the Yankees.

Mike Lowell is the 3rd base for the red sox and became a free agent there was two teams after him the Yankees and the red sox the Yankees offred him 4-years worth alot money and the red sox 3-years and he signed with the red sox. Curt Shilling is coming back to the red sox for 1 more year and probably last year. Brian Cashman the v.ip

and brian cashmen is the GM for the yanks(ironic how his name is cashmen and the yanks got loads of cash isnt it?)
