Nvidia's GeForce Go 6800 Ultra seems to not be sold anymore and instead, a bunch of other video cards are sold in the 8800s...
...how can I tell if those video cards would work in place of the 6800 or not?

What you want is so easy to do on a desktop PC but almost impossible in most laptops. There are NO retail graphics cards for laptops. Some gaming laptops that have dedicated graphics card only uses proprietary cards on a special internal slot.

It won't. I don't know of a single laptop that permits you to change the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Video cards are meant to be installed in Desktop computers, not laptops. The GPU is soldered to the laptop motherboard and the BIOS programming and other components needed to support it cannot be replaced.

i'm no longer efficient that you even can improve a computer video card, in case you do, you're surely voiding the guaranty. yet, with computers, maximum video playing cards will in good structure once you've room and an outstanding sufficient PSU.

phone the company that sells the video card they really want to sell them and obviously will be able to tell you, make sure you have the specifications of your laptop ready
