I sent a package Via Priority Mail about a month ago and it contained expensive shoes. It was my first time sending something through USPS. And it still hasnt arrived to its destination. I called the Main Office and they told me if the package is lost their is nothing they can do about it without a tracking number or Insurnace. Can i sue them because i was never infromed about their policy. If i had known about the tracking number and insurance i wouldve purchased it. Can i sue them for that? If not, who can i talk to about this issue?

Don't know about how the US postal Service works so you want to sue them for your poor education?

Got to be a lib, And I bet you don't even realize that if everyone sued them they would simply raise their rates again to pay for it.

No, you can't sue. Insurance is an option you may purchase when you ship something. If the item was that expensive, you should have considered insuring it.

Next time, use FedEx or UPS. I've never had anything go missing with them.

Also, if you sent if via Priority Mail, you would have received a tracking number. Did you misplace the tracking number? If you paid for the shipment with a credit card, they might be able to help locate the tracking number in their computer system.

If you can sue them it will cost you more than the price of the shoes. I think it would be difficult for you to prove that you didn't know about the insurance -- I have never, and I mean never, sent a pkg from the uspo without having been asked if I wanted insurance! They need to know if you want insurance before they ring the price up. Heck, I have a hard time believing you!

You cannot sue them. When you gave them your package, you probably had to sign something when you dropped it off. It would have its policy on it regarding lost packages. Signing it would have let them know that you understood this policy. It is YOUR responibility to keep the receipt you got with the tracking number on it. If it is a high value item enclosed in the box, it is YOUR responsiblity to pay insurance on it.

Request a copy of your personnel file (to which you have a right), and see exactly what they put in there as the reason for your termination. Just because a member of managment told you that, doesn't mean you were terminated for union activity. Some union activity is protected and some is not.

If you sent something priority mail you should have a receipt for that to prove you sent it. If you did not take insurance out then they will not replace the item but they can locate it with the priority receipt.

When you send a package it has a tracking number.
Just tell them the address on the package to and from , it should show up on their computers.
No, they are not going to want to help you, you'll have to beg someone.

Drop that part of your story before you ask anyone else about this - it might make you seem more sympathetic, not less.

they offer to sell you tracking and insurance, which you declined.

so, NO. you can not sue.
