I have listed a few anti virus and a few anti spyware programs that are available for download and are completely free: I will not get involved with the rights and wrongs of each package or its effectiveness or indeed “This is best” or “This is crap” statements. Whatever you do, just make sure you have one of each type installed, updated and fully working:

I have comodo which I saw somewhere was rated the best and have no complaints. It checks for updates daily so I don't think anything is going to get past that. You can go to comodo.com and check for the other downloads they have, all free, but I found the firewall to be beyond my understanding although it was rated best so I would caution you about getting that.

avira works really good for me and its free www.avira.com and
I would say its the best free one , also the best paid for one
is kaspersky , www.kaspersky.com

buy a mac they got the best protection. i got a mac its so nice you dont have to worry about viresus
