Good question.
Preventatively, I try to get enough sleep, eat healthily and get a lot of exercise.
However, in regards to "emotional first aid," there is sugar (I tend to reach for sugary foods when stressed, I'm not saying it's a good thing), hugs and jokes from my husband, journaling and indulging in fantasies about what life would be like if it was perfect.

A diary is in my emotional first aid box, as is music, and watching funny clips on youtube. Those things help alleviate stress in my life.
