Although the majority of people want Justice for Madeleine, it seems neither the Police, or Social Services can do a thing? Because according to the McCann Lawyers they are innocent! - “They have been told by their lawyers that they have not broken the law.”

So first they say- The couple said the resort was “so quiet”, they thought it was safe to leave Madeleine and their two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.

And then on the Panorama Documentary, we are told they ‘knew’ they were being watched….

So even though they ‘wittingly’ left their three ‘tots’ in an extremely vulnerable situation they are not responsible! –

"But they are responsible parents who would never intentionally have done anything to harm their children or put them at risk.

I just wonder if anyone had posted a question a year ago and asked if anyone thought it would be 'OK' to leave 3 babies alone in an unlocked apartment, in a country they didn't know, with a door backing onto a main road, with a swimming pool very close by, ....while 'we' the parents went out on the piss with friends... how many people would of said 'yeah it should be OK, have a good time...' or would people question whether the asker was in their 'right mind'??? IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE... bloody hell!!!
Accordingly NOW, it seems that if we can't get (don't want to pay for!!) a babysitter over Christmas/new year.. whenever.. it's 'OK' to leave our child fast asleep in bed and head off for a nice night out.. cos hey from the pub I can just about see my house, and I WILL check my kids every 30 (or so) minutes.. if doctors can do it, well it must be OK ???

While going away from home and leaving young children in the house unaccompanied and unsupervised is a criminal offence in Britain, the reason the British powers-that-be cannot charge the McCanns with child neglect, is because the offence was commmitted outside the UK.

I'm not a fan of the McCanns, but ffs... the British Police and Social Services have no jurisdiction in Portugal. They have not committed a crime in the UK, hence no charges. If laws have been broken in Portugal, it's up to the Portuguese authorities to pursue it.

I hope that Maddie will be found safe and well, BUT, if that was to happen to my family as I am a stay at home Mum we would have been arrested for leaving our children. Why right do the McCanns have to leave their children unattended? If you leave something lying around then of course someone else will take it. I hope they are feeling very guilty! Also if it is found that they are somehow connected to her disapperance how will the public feel? This is not just their child any more everyone feels like they have put so much effort into keeping this search going. Sorry for the rant but I am glad someone asked xxx

I agree with you, it makes me so angry, I can see a back lash of children being left alone whilst their parents go out on the lash, and if anything happens, then they will say "well the Mccann's did it, and weren't charged with neglect" - is that the kind of message that should be sent out? I don't think so. No charge the McCann's with child neglect, that is the least they deserve.

You know, I do not know what the McCanns did, but I do know that if they are completely innocent they are doing a damn good job of making people think they're guilty !! I don't know who is handling their campaign but they're not doing their employers any favours. Clarence Mitchell ain't helping. It's no good saying that everything you don't agree with is ' ludicrous ', it just sounds annoying and arrogant.

i so agree with emma louise d,

So if they did nothing wrong,

Does that mean i can go to the pub friday night with my mates and leave my 4 kids aged 3 - 11 home alone.
And if anything happens to them i can say that i am not doing anything wrong "ask the Mccanns"

I dont think so some how i would be stuck in a cell and charged for child neglect and anything else they can throw at me,

So why is it One rule for the McCanDoNoWrongs and a different rule for everyone else.

So true. They should be charged with neglect, the fund should be frozen and they should be made to take a lie detector test. They haven't even got the decency to admit that they were wrong to leave the children.

They weren't referring to the children they were talking I believe about being under police surveillance after she went missing.
