We thought our daughter would never crawl! LOL
What we did was put our daughter up on her hands and knees and encourage her to crawl... we would be rooting her on! LOL... my husband and I would even get on our hands & knees and crawl on the floor. Keep putting her favorite blanket or toy barely out of her reach. Took us awhile but she FINALLY did get the hang of it... and we were amazed! Now she is ALL over the house and into everything. lol
Its a blast, have fun!

My daughter was a late crawler also. The doctor said it was probably because she was born a tall girl and a good weight which means more for her little arms to support. What the doctor suggested us doing was putting her on her stomach and then placing our hand underneath her belly (like supporting most or all her weight) and if need be gently lift her (or him in your case) into the crawling position and see how he goes from there. At first I was very skeptical but tried it nonetheless and the first time I tried it with my daughter, as soon as my hand had some leverage on her belly, she was off crawling (with my hand still supporting her). She loved it! so we kept doing this with her and even when my hand wasn't there she tried more to crawl on her own. After a month or so she was able to crawl on her own! Hope this helps. It really worked with my daughter!

Aww congratulations!! How interesting for you, i am going to imagine you are able to be estatic. After the getting on all fours and shuffling and falling onto the tummy to achieve, it changed into purely a count of about per week or 10 days earlier my son changed into crawling everywhere nicely.

I never crawled. I scooted on my tush, and I actually learned to walk earlier than most kids. If he doesn't like to crawl or be on his tummy, then sit him upright and do the same thing with a toy infront of him. It may be easier for him to scoot because you sit on your bum and not have all the weight on knees and hands.

Every baby is different, my nice start walking when she was 11 months and she never crawls. Don't force him to do it, the important thing that he walks around his first year.

hey, im in the same boat as you are with my 8 month old daugher, she dosnt even get up on her hands and knees, she hates tummy time. but im not worried, my first daugher didnt crawl at all, she did the bum scoot. they dont look at crawling as a milestone because some kids just dont do it.
