There is the M&M store there, and right next to it is the Coca Cola store. Both are four stories high. You can watch the water fountain shows every half hour at the Bellagio hotel. Plan on doing a LOT of walking unless you make a plan and stick to it. The Venetian has tons of shops and restaurants, and you can ride in one of the gondolas on the water canal inside. It's beautiful inside the Venetian. They made it to look like you're touring the canals of Venice, and the ceiling is painted like sky with appropriate lighting for whatever time of day it is. Circus Circus is still a nice place to take the kids. Depending upon how old your kids are, there is tons of stuff there for kids to do, and the buffet is still pretty decent for the price.
My best advice is to speak to a travel agent before hand so you can have a plan before you even get there. Sans that, try to find a cabbie that speaks good English and can tell you the best places to go. Unfortunately for us, when we were there earlier in the year, we didn't find that helpful cabbie until our last day there. Look on-line, too. There are plenty of websites devoted to Las Vegas. IMO, it really is best to have a plan. Most of all, HAVE LOTS OF FUN!! And don't lose all your money! LOL

Well off the strip there is a chocolate factory and it is free, right there, there is a cactus garden and it should be lit up for Christmas. On the strip there is a free show in each hotel basically. Around Blue Diamond there is a zoo, its not the best but its something to do when your bored, they have barely any animals but.. they have like an old time thing (its $10per car)
Also at Circus Circus there is Adventure dome( a indoor themepark).
I hope all of this helped!

Vegas and things to do with the kids!
Las Vegas Natural History Museum has animated dinosaurs,
Flamingo Hotel has a "wild habitat" in the courtyard that includes African Penguins, a lot of Flamingos all like they're in their natural setting.
Jillian's Las Vegas with very electronic type of game. Bowling and billiards with a great restaurant. Located at 450 Fremont Street and open every day at 11:00am.
At the Luxor, you will find rides and attractions and it costs about $25.00 to indulge in a virtual reality roller coaster ride, see IMaX movies, including "In Search for the Obelisk" and get a pass to "The Tomb and Museum of King Tutankhamen".
Or for more thrills ride The Roller Coaster for real at New York, New York right through the hotel structure.
Your children might also enjoy the Siegfried and Roy White Tiger Habitat at the Mirage, tickets are available in back of the lobby.

The Fountains at the Bellagio is fantastic, Circus Circus has circus acts continuously, the M&M Factory is great, all of the lights on the strip, the aquarium in Ceasars, the sirens at TI though geared more for adults .. kids will enjoy,
Vegas is not really geared for small children mainly kids 21 and older.

You do not say how old the kids are, but the website below provides a list of activities. You can choose indoor or outdoor, and sort by their ages. You cna even enter the dates you will be there. If you dress warmly, the new Spring Preserve is very nice, and will keep them entertained for a coule of hours. There is also a nice children's discovery museum that is lots of fun. In the hotels, you can see Lions, Sharks, Dolphins, dancing fountains, etc.

Stay at either Excalibur or Circus Circus. At Circus Circus there are circus acts, an indoor amusement park, and other stuff that's relatively child friendly Excalibur looks like a castle and has a dinner theater that's child friendly.
