There is no, justifiable excuse, everyone in the country with an interest in the national side however big/or small that interest Could have quite easily forecast what the out come would be, the team (if you can call it that) is made up of players with too much money to care if they win, or lose.

What ever manager is, in place with this conglomeration of Prim ma Donna's, he will have an unenviable task,The performance last night confirms to all, this is, the case here.

This opinion is certainly by shared many, many, fans of our national game.it is understood the sacking of the past manager was, inevitable and, the assistant. The problems though are more than managerial, the basic without doubt is the team itself, lackadaisical attitude,no visual effort, clearly to be seen on the field last night.each one with one or two exceptions, should have been ashamed of not only the result, but of their own individual performances

The lack of passion and commitment by the majority of the players.

There was a time when pulling on the jersey with the 3 lions on it was a real honour and players did their best when wearing it...

It is easy to criticise the manager for bad team selection and tactics etc, but the players that were on that pitch know that they should and could have performed better regardless of the manager. Remember they play the game not the manager and they simply under-performed (again). These players are meant to be the best our country can offer, regardless of whether or not you play week in week out with your team mates they should be able to adapt their game to play with each other in an England shirt.

It is a disgrace and the players should be ashamed of themselves.

We have been lucky in qualifying for recent tournaments anyway. In some respects not qualifying for this one is a good thing, as now the under-lying problems that have existed for years will have now to be looked at as they cannot be covered up as we haven't got through to the tournament proper this time.

They ran out of excuses. I mean McClaren went all the way to LA to convince Beckham to play... then does not include him in the team.
I would love to see England in Switzerland next summer. We do not deserve to go. Justice was done. It is not being unpatriotic for realising that we do not have any world class talented players in our national team. Let's make a list of the occasions when that team messed everything up They lost to Portugal in the Euro-2000, and again in the Euro 2004 (missing all penalties almost). Last years world cup was the same s_it -- most penalties defended. This year, they score an own goal against the Croatians. The talk now is to invite Mourinho to be the manager. If he accepts the job the first thing he will do will be to FIRE EACH AND EVERY PLAYER in the national team and hire young blood. That to me is the only solution. Remember the world cup is less than 2 years away.

Its ok, Ive got the answer - according to my husband, I jinxed it because I forgot to buy bread this morning, so its my fault apparently! Husband likes to eat chesse and onion toasties when watching footie, dont know why, but because i forgot the bread and we had steak and chips instead, its all my fault.

How he came to that conclusion is beyond me!

Personally, i think we were outplayed by a better team, thats all there is to it.

Putting in a new keeper in such an important game was suicide!

There are no excuses, I think even the Scottish would be surprised that we have been knocked out.

Pay them extortionate salaries when they win. When they don't pay a NORMAL wage ....You would soon see the goals fly in loll
