Funny however putting it on the floor (spit cup) could lead to other problems. So I would make the suggestion that it be banned from indoor use altogether.

No it is not rude of you. It is rude of her. It is just like not allowing cigarette smoking in your home. Just ask that she please keep it away from the family's eating quarters. Yuck! Even better yet, out of view and smelling distance.
