It's the Friday after Thanksgiving. All the stores have huge sales. And this is about the only time of year it is possible to get run over by a cart being pushed by grandmas. People go crazy. It's like rush hour and people don't care if they trample you.
Good luck if you are going. There are really good deals but I don't want to risk my life for it--lol.

It is the Friday after Thanksgiving, when everyone goes to do their Christmas shopping done, the shops open really early, and make so much money that they go in the black, hence black Friday

Where people wake up at 4am to shop for "After thanksgiving/christmas" sales. Some stores only have the sales from 4-6 others are like 9-1... it just depends.. Its normally really crowded.. but its a tradition i like to do. :) check out this website.. it has stuff about black friday. www.bfads.net
It must be called black friday because its still dark in the mornings... :/

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It got it's name because it is the first day of the year where stores finally start turning a profit. Losses are recorded in red ink, profits in black, at least back before computers. It is also called that by those poor people who have to get up by 2-3am to get to the stores they work in. Many pull 12 hour shifts, helping hundreds or thousands of people. It is overwhelming and exhausting, and many cope with a bit of "gallows humor," comparing it to Black Tuesday, when the stock market crashed.

its the day after thanksgiving the beggining of christmas shopping its huge and the stores are packed and have huge sales idk why its clled black friday but thats what black friday is
