I think this might be way to harsh. I know that you were very hurt but you did this out of anger. I just got broken up with too and my boyfriend was soo mean about it. I wanted to get back at him so he could feel as bad or worse than I did. But instead I just decided to be extra happy (yeah it was fake because I liked him more than anyone ever) but still my ex got really confused and jealous. I hope this works in your situation but if you let him know that he hurt you then he might not feel bad. But if he sees that you are happier without him (which I know you are very upset) then he might feel bad. I really hope I helped.
