DONT:
1: Try to fight or disarm a criminal who is robbing you
2: Stare them down (pay attention but try not to be obvious about it)
3: Go to an undisclosed place with the robber. Once they have what they are taking from you, they don't need you. Never go with a criminal that has robbed you, they are just looking for a better place to dispose of you. This holds especially true of store employees who go along with robbers to "other locations". Give them what they ask for and be quick about it, then there is nothing more that you need to do. For the sake of your own life and witnesses, NEVER LEAVE WITH THE CRIMINAL. If you must get shot, at least make it on your own terms and stay where you are, where evidence can be collected so you can be avenged by law.

If you know martial arts, DON'T USE THEM. Nine times out of ten a guy with a gun beats a martial arts expert, regardless of what you have seen in the latest Chuck Norris picture.
If someone in a car grabs your bag, DON'T HOLD ON. Each year three people are killed in drive-by bag snatchings. This is mainly because there are only about three people born each year stupid enough to hold onto their bag while they are being dragged around the streets of New York.
