Okay I've searched alot of websites and I've still havent found a solution. I have an HP Computer Maybe 1-2 years old. Everything was working fine than my CD-Rom doesnt work than a few days later it starts working again. Than maybe 4 months after that my mouse is having problems. I was playing a Game and my Ball mouse just froze up so i restarted my computer and no luck. So I thought it was just old and replaced. So i Plugged in my Logitech bluetooth mouse(laser) it works to some extent. It works for maybe 30 seconds (if i keep moving it around) Than stops. and if i wait awhile it works again for awhile and freezes up. I tried System Restore all my USB Slots. Batteries are fresh.. any other ideas??

Are you infected?

Download SuperAntiSpyware. It will remove the majority of difficult Trojans etc.
http://www.superantispyware.com/

Turn off System Restore. Load the application in normal mode but run in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence.

If you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to give you a totally clean system.

Assuming SuperAntiSpyware still failed to totally clean your system I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/desktop_software/desktop_security/smitfraudfix.cfm

Again run in Safe Mode.

Good luck & safe surfing.

Sounds like grunge in your USB contacts could be possible...I know I knocked one of mine around and it got wicked. (One of my laptops, I use on an armchair, and klutz that I am, I always bump the danged mouse thingie into the arm of the chair as I'm getting up...well, you can imagine. Gotta quit eating cookies over here, too.)

Else, every now and then, we have to take a pencil eraser to the contacts on the outside of the USB contacts where they plug in to the USB ports on to the computer. Then blow them off with "canned air".

Finally, check with your PC manufacturer for up-to-date USB drivers? (But...that's not a likely solution, I suspect.)

if the new mouse came with a install disk I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it. if not you can go to the logitech site and download it from there. i would also go to control panel, mouse and check settings etc for the mouse to make sure the problem isn't in the set-up
