Just go. Period flow stops while you are in water. It is because of pressure. Enjoy the outing, there is no much problem. Be happy!

Use a TAMPON and you won't have any problems. Start with a slender tampon with a PLASTIC applicator. You should change them every 6 hours or so (NOT EVERY 2!--Talk about a waste of money!). You can safely leave a tampon in for up to 8 hours (read the box people!)

And water DOES NOT stop a period!! (I don't know where everyone is getting this false information) The water just washes away the blood. You will still be BLEEDING IN THE WATER! No tampon=no pool. Would YOU want to swim in someone else's blood?

Is this your first? I remember I was so embressed when I had gotten mine, but if it is heavy or light and you like to were tampons you will be fine in water and running around. You just have to keep up with changing them to make sure that they do not get to full and you leak but I use tampes and they have never done me wrong. Good luck and have a great turkey day hun.

Don't be affraid of the water. A good tampon can provide you with enough protection to go swimming! How do you think olmpic swimmers do it? Try and have fun and do as much as you want. If you are truly uncomfortable, just avoid the worse (or wetter) of the activities. Have fun!

How can you disapoint her? It's your period, a fact of life. Don't stress over it. If you don't wnat to go into the water then don't, but you can get in water while on your period. If you are afraid of using a tampon, don't worry about it. It doesn't just flow into the water and make it red. Also, chlorinated water in most pools is ment to kill any bacteria that get in the pool. So don't worry about that either. Just have a good time!

Well, you could try using a tampon when you get in the water. I don't know how comfortable you are with that. Water actually stops the flow, so once you get in the water you will be fine. So if you can change quick and jump in, then jump out and change again quick, just go without. Have fun though!!

Just b/c you got your period doesn't mean you can't go and still have fun. Just buy some tampons. I have found that the best is Playtex gentle glide. I use to be involved in water sports so i would buy the super ones and it works well...super. lol hope you have a blast!

You can just wear a tampon in the water. If your mother doesn't want you to wear them just tell her that you need to in order to have fun. If she still doesn't want you to and she is worried that you will forget to take it out or that it won't make you a virgin anymore you can take her only and show her all the facts or print them out and and give them to her to read. Good Luck and I hope you have fun on your vacation!!

You could wear a tampon, but if you still feel uncomfortable while wearing one you could sit out and sunbathe if you're going to a warm outdoors place.

If it's indoors or something you could maybe find a little shop and get your family some trinkets or whatever. Make them feel like you're not swimming but you still want to be there.

Wear a tampon...
or if your period is really light (espcially on the last few days) you can live without anything for 20+ min to go swimming, just change right away!!
