really believe they can silence all dissenting voices?

Do they expect to win not with reason, but with obscene language, violent imagery, veiled and not-so-veiled threats, repeated false accusations, name-calling, and insulting references to personal appearance?

(In the last twenty-four hours, I've been subjected, via email, to all the above.)

Harryd-I've gotten more than enough attention in the last 24 hours, and it's all negative, and all delivered in the spirit of the playground insult, with a similar vocabulary.

As a TRUE conservative who refused to vote for Bush, and who knows the man is a moron puppet controlled by Cheney, i can tell you this. The small amount of people still under the veil of ignorance supporting bush are people who fear thinking for themselves. They are ashamed, filled with hate, and are losers. But they have a great desire to be part of a group, a group that at least in part agrees with them. So they flock to the Busheep crowd. By banding together and spewing hate and anger, they feel big and important, and even more, they feel like they have friends, also spewing hate. But those are the only friends these losers will ever have. And now they will all report me for exposing the truth, and i will be deleted. They cannot face the reality of themselves, so they try and quiet others.

OH Brother. I can not believe I just read that someone actually thinks the war is going well. The war is going WELL? You "s h i t i n g" me right. Let me make this clear. If the war is better than it once was, but in all accounts costing American lives and treasure, does not mean it is going well. Secondly, this administration has found ways to control the media to a point. If you have something to say against this administration, you are considered un-patriotic, or against America. I could give you a hundred examples of liberal scum not allowing conservatives to speak at special events, and I challenge you to provide even one real example of conservatives doing the same.

Calling you what you are does not equate the silencing of your voice, and you have emailed me saying you are reporting me to yahoo in an attempt to silence me. it's the people who think we can just walk away from this war that are confused. it's like pandora's box. you can't put the demons back so you are stuck till the job is done. it will be much much worse if we walk away. they (Saddam) deserved the war by breaking UN sanctions multiple times but not for the reasons we actually went in for. Anyway, hindsight is always 20/20. We just have to get it done and hope for the best. I'm conservative and I don't want to shut up anyone. I don't much care for Bush either. Dems want to shut folks up as much as far rightwing Reps do. As the famous Rodney King said, "Why can't we all just get along?".

The NeoCons are a relatively small minority within the Republican party. They were made famous by Reagen and will continue to live off of his legacy until Bush is out of office. As for the trash-talking, crap-slinging...welcome to politics, as both parties are in violation of being decent citizens. Maybe you are too young to remember the trash being slug at the Right during Clinton's run for office in 91? It wasn't wholesome and sweet. I think both parties need a time out and i think our energy as citizens would be better served if we refused to partake in their obscenity and opted for them all to act their age....

Maybe people don't like your hairdo. How do they know about your personal appearance? Are there photos of you on the internet? Anyway, Bush is doing just fine, and even the NYT and the major news networks are now admitting that the war is going pretty well too. Judging from the tone of your question, I doubt if you're getting much attention. That's the problem, now, isn't it?
