If you had to post your real name, address and photo with every post you made online. Wouldn't you be too scared of being humiliated to write anything? Or are you "yourself" online already?

There are groups that advocate this very thing. It's not a hypothetical. It's a very real possibility in the future.

If I don't post anything illegal or any criminal confessions then I am 100% anonymous because no one in law enforcement cares what else I might write and my IP would never get involved unless a crime had been committed.

I am almost never my true self online. The internet gives you a sort of false sense of power and disconnection, in the fact that you feel you can do and say whatever you want and it won't affect anyone, or it will.
I would have to quit going to so many hentai sites, that's for sure! ;P

Name-photo Ok but too much danger in having your address posted. To many sicko's out there in the real world. Don't usually say anything anonymously I wouldn't say to your face. But that's just me.

i would probably be a little more hesitant to ask the questions i ask. It's fun being very open with complete strangers, plus you learn a lot about ppl and how they actually think. Making up a face behind the question is half the fun, too!

I'd stop using the internet, honestly. It's scary to think about everyone knowing who I am, part of the fun of the internet is being anonymous.

Honestly, I wouldn't be scared of humiliation. I don't write stuff that would embarrass me. But I would be worried about lunatics showing up at my house.

I wouldn't be scared of being humiliated - I would be scared of the knock on the door of people queueing (how DO you spell it?) up to ask me to marry them because I am so wonderful

I have my name and email address out their and it doesn't change my answers or questions. It does screw with some people's mind that try and steel my information to find they can't and loose their hard drive trying.

Would you post your name and address if you had to tell the truth?

One answer is that the internet may not be as anonymous as you think it is, particularly if you don't clean out the various "cookies" that internet sites leave in your computer.

NOTHING on the interney is ANONYMOUS, nothing.

i don't know anyone who would post personal information on unsecured web site. that plain FOOLISH.

oh...well aside myspace web site where kids/teeens, sometimes adults put personal information but that's people main obsession :). some of them unware of potential danger of it.
