This lady said I should get a job because I am a housewife but I don't want feel like women should have to work unless their husbands need them to. I don't like working outside the home and get nervous having to work 40 hours a week somewhere. :( I just want to be a housewife and take care of cooking and cleaning.

If your husband can support the family, then there's no need for you to get a job, but if he can't then you should get a job!!
What's wrong with working??? Get real, this is the 21th century!! Woman work!!!
My daddy is a stay-at-home dad and my mommy is the person that works in my family. The mom supports the family, not the dad!!

Keeping house can be a full time job in itself. If you can manage the bills then stay home. I am a housewife too. It's not really any of that lady's business anyway.

do whatever you want and what you think is right for your family. i personally could never be a housewife. for me, having a fulltime job is much easier than tending to the house and a baby. plus i like having my own money which gives me security in the event that our relationship went south. working out of the house can be rewarding if you have the right frame of mind and a job you like. but if you like tending to the home, then do it. nobody can tell you what's appropriate for you.

If that is what you want to do and you are financially able, then do it. As long as your husband is ok with it, don't worry about what everyone else thinks or says. Some people may just be jealous.

If it suits you and your other half then it is no-one else's business,I had to work through necessity in the early days of marriage and though I don't have to now I enjoy it so I carry on.

Ignore the lady and everybody else. How you and your husband run your household is nobody's business.

If your husband doesn't mind , I sure don't. You don't have to work if you want to stay home.
