Aswan is a wonderful place and Aswan's people are the best Egyptians alive , really they have all the qualities we lost in the north and they do them by nature , you will love Aswan ya gigi and people there will love you .
on the contrary , luxor people are merchants , bay3een mayeshterosh , very material , but the town is charming , so it's a must to visit it .
it's hot in Aswan , may that's why they have such warm hearts .

I lived i Luxor for 2yrs, i loved the people & the place. I had been interested in the history for many years & to live amongst it was wonderful, walking past Luxor temple every day was so special. To be able to look out of our flat window & see the Nile go by was out of this world.
I found the people very friendly & welcoming, but some of the men are a bit over friendly, even as a resident when they know you, they say things. I tried to always be respectful with my dress, but it made no difference, as they seem to see all western women as game, its a shame.
I found the daily food shop fun, i had to go to the street market to get my vegatables, & haggle. Imagine going to Tesco's & haggling. lol
The reason i wanted to return to the UK was because the heat really got to me. It seemed to get hotter every year & though i am a sun worshipper, it got too much. I missed my family & the green of the UK, its all dusty & kind of brown in Egypt.
I loved it, but i found living there hard.

PS. Aswan is about 4c hotter than Luxor all year round, so be warned.
