The fourth dimension IS time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_dimension
online definition:
the fourth coordinate that is required (along with three spatial dimensions) to specify a physical event
AKA
Time
Time cannot exist without one of the other dimensions.
The 3rd dimension cannot exist without the 2nd
The 2nd cannot exist without the 1st
but some say TIME CAN EXIST within ONLY the 1st or within only the 2nd or even the 3rd.
Also it seems that the faster you move through space (dimensions) the more you effect "your" time. (slowing it down)
thusly they say time and space are combined----- resulting in "space time"
the lower the gravity you're in, the slower time gets to for some reason.
satellites orbiting around the earth have computer programs written into them to "speed" their clocks up to compensate for this problem. they lose about 45.9 microseconds per day.

time. any physics model incorporates time as the 4th dimension.
if you mean the 4th spatial dimension good luck getting an answer, considering its impossible to visualize any 4 dimensional object. the human mind cannot comprehend 4 spatial dimensions. try to picture a dimension (like depth, length, and width) that is parallel to all of the others (depth, length, width). its impossible to picture.
its quite easy to describe though. if you picture a square it has 1 dimensional lines for its surfaces. a cube has 2 dimensional squares for its surfaces. so logically a hypercube (4 dimensional cube) would have cubes for its surfaces (dont picture a giant cube made from smaller ones, thats what most do). its impossible to visualize.
and erika, dont put pseudoscience in with real facts.

Dimensions are mathematical locators for positions in space. Most of us are familiar with three dimensions - length width and height. In order to locate something we actually need to consider four dimensions - the fourth one being time. Imagine trying to locate a friend in an office building down the street. First you would need to know how far north or south to go. That is one spatial dimension (like length). Next you need to know how far east or west to go - that is the second spatial dimension ( like width). Next you would need to know how high to go (what floor are they on) - that is the third spatial dimension (height). You also need to know when to look in that spot - they may have left an hour ago! That becomes the fourth dimension. (time). We now refer to space and time as a single entity called spacetime. Currently, some theories suggest there may be more dimensions - as many as eleven - but they are wrapped up into tiny spaces that are far to small for us to experience directly. They are however, very important to very small things like electrons and quarks and help to explain their strange behaviour.

In special and general relativity the forth dimension is time. Although it is customary to make it the 0th dimension in many textbooks (but that us a random choice of nomenclature).
A spacelike 4th dimension does not exist, however, compactified higher dimensions might. Next year, when LHC comes online, we will probably know a little bit more.

There is no doubt that time is a fourth dimension. Special Relativity (which is an extremely well-established theory at this point) tells us that if you have two observers near each other, but travelling at different speeds, then their space-time coordinate systems are a little rotated, with one observer's time vector extending a little bit into 3-dimensional space, from the point of view of the other observer. In other words, one person's time can, in part, be another person's space

It is now old news that the fourth dimension is definitely time.

There's 10 dimensions. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU1fixMAObI
4th is time, by the way.

The 4th dimension is scientifically proven to be time.
The 5th is believed to be the Astral.
6th is supposedly self-will.
the 7th is the spiritual realm/dimension.
And then there's the Absolute, which controls all dimensions.
