Lets hope so but there are so many groups that don't want peace in this area that I do have grave doubts. Peace only works when everyone wants it and it has been tried so many times before.

As the Israelis say "there is no partner for peace"
The Palestinian people will consider only untenable situations for israels future.Of course ,they arent ina position to make these demands.
We have to accept, that the palestians are merely pawns of Iran and Syria.Playing on the sympathy of the left in western democracies to further their cause.Peace is not achievable whilst Palestine continues to be manipulated by oil rich fundamentalist states such as Iran. The removal of the Iran leadership equates to cutting off of the head of the snake.

No one can make peace between the Palestinians and Israeli's,
Except the palestinians and israeli's themselves.
And lets face it, there is no way there can be a peace made any time in the near future.
Since the palestinians are in the middle of a civil war right now.

This peace process, like others before it, will fail no matter what the Bush administration or any administration does, regardless of how competant or incompetant they are at their job.
That is because the main conditions why the original peace process started in 1993 failed STILL EXIST and this conference in Annapolis will not make them cease to exist.

Just another one for the heap of "plans" for Arab-Israeli peace going back 80 years and made by people with little or no understanding of Arab and/or Jewish culture/history.
There have been around 50 of these "plans" so far.

I really doubt that this administration will be able to succeed where so many others have failed. Rice is too inept to make this happen.

You mean like Carter? I thought he fixed this problem. THIRTY years ago.
You mean like Clinton? I thought he fixed this problem. TEN years ago.
