It would never work. It is easier to produce wheat then it is oil. Oil is a selective resource meaning its not found everywhere. Wheat on the other hand can be produced in alot of places. The opec countries would find a very poor country like in south america and subsidize its entire farming economy for pennies on the dollar that can produce all the wheat they need.

A goof bargaining chip to be played, but it would reflect on a weak UK Governement and possibly an aggresive stance in world markets.

I personally have worked ex-pat to assist oil producing nations, and the vast wealth of, say Dubai, would not exist if it were not for Europeans finding it, building the equipment to get it out, and refining it.

So they give us a golf club
And build Palaces.

Oh, fair play, it is their oil, but the existance of a bowl of cornflakes is down to us.

The introduction of your "OFPEC" seems a reasonable notion.

Food for Oil..lol. We will become a 3rd world nation like Saddam's Iraq.

My answer is no. It would be better to concentrate on alternative energy and extracting more oil here in N America.
