I do not know ovf any doucumenteries but there are four dimensions - length, width, and height (they also have other names) the fourth one is time. There is a huge controversy over the number of dimesions and really there is no way to know as of now. But we are sure there are four. There may be ones too small or two large as well. I have my own theories of other dimensions, but those are purely educated hypothesis that have yet to be tested.

the only one i know is the hawking paradox. it sums up string theory/m-theory pretty well.

basically this is m-theory (more advanced string theory) in layman's terms.

we experience 4 dimensions; 3 spatial (length, width, depth) and 1 time. that basically forms the "brane" of this universe, or the surface. in that surface, all around it, below it, everywhere, are very very tiny string like things. these "strings" are 11 dimensional membranes that coiled up into extremely small sizes smaller than quarks. when 2 of them collide, and a nearly infinite number of them are at any given point, they create a new universe. that new universe quickly splits off from ours to form a completely different one with completely independent space. thats how our universe was formed.

thats all a theory, its not proved, its just a theory.

I don't know of any documentaries, but there are at least 11 that physicists and cosmologists are playing with in order to come up with the "Theory of Everything" or "Unified Field Theory" linking all the known forces of nature together.

Why would you need a documentary to explain that that are only four?
