truth be told, i wasn't born yet 10 years ago so i have no comment. i'm not a fan but i'm impressed at what they do and how UNCLASSY they are this year by running up the score board after each game. LET MATT CASSEL PLAY IF BILL BELICHICK CHECKS THIS WEBSITE.
EDIT:
10 years ago, they were still pretty good. in i think, 96 or 97 they went to the superbowl but lost. they were good 10 years ago as well with parcells and carroll.

Ten years ago today, they were the defending AFC Champions and went into Pittsburgh in the divisional playoff and lost 7-6 on a busted play that Kordell Stewart somehow turned into a 40 yard TD run instead of a 10 yard sack loss.
They would have hosted the AFC Championship against denver game if Bledsoe had driven them another 20 yards with under 1 minute to go. Curtis Martin was OUT and so were a bunch of other Patriots, not making excuses but they were very good 10 years ago.
You obviously weren't around the NFL, not the Patriots and their fans.

I live 20 minutes from Foxboro and have my whole life - there have always been fans here - though I can't speak for others around the country.
Ten years ago all you heard about was DAL, DEN, and GB- even though NE was in a super bowl ten years ago as well (which they lost handily).
The fact is, the internet and message boards like this didn't exist 10+ years ago. Same amount of fans (I'm sure there are plenty of bandwagoneers as well) you just hear about more now. Kind of like peanut allergies.

I'm a fan of Tom Brady first, I'm a fan of the Patriots only because Tom Brady plays for them. So maybe that makes me a bandwagon fan, but I've been one since 2000.
I think the Patriots are America's team, since they stand for patriotism.

About 15 years now.
I'm still a Giants fan on the NFC side, but if it comes to it, go Pats.
As for there being no true fans left, maybe, but when you have teams that abuse, tease, and all but spit on the loyalty of their fans by finding new ways to be terrible, it's hard to remain a fan of such an organization. And yeah, I'm talking about the Jets.

I am no bandwagoner...I have been with them for the good and bad times...From Steve Grogan to Tom Brady, from Irving Fryar to Randy Moss...when Favre won his lone Super Bowl against them in '97...and the '85 Super Bowl, when McMahon, Ditka, and the Bears lit them up in the Super Bowl like a Christmas tree 46-10...So, it is really nice to see them be the best team in the NFL now...

Yes,always liked my home home town team.
Even knew who they were when they were the Boston Patriots prior to moving to Foxboro.Didn't watch them much back then as they were not televised unless they sold out and back then that wasn't very often.
Now you have to wait for someone to die if you want season tickets and they always sell out.
This creates a larger fan base ,not necessarily bandwagon jumpers, just people that can't afford or get a ticket but can follow them on TV.

I was/am! My 2 fav teams are the Pats and the Bears. It seems like every year 1 team or the other at least would do well! '85 was a great year for both of my teams!

I love the pats and i know i didnt jump on the bandwagon... i was 3 ten yrs ago, but if i was a football fan, i know i would have loved them.
the colts were dominant a few yrs back but I still hated them.
a lot of pats fans DO jump on the bandwagon but who can blame them, their team suks and they dont want to be miserable year after year.

No that honor would have to go to the Bengals fans. The loved the Bengals when they were 11-5 and bought up all the merchandise they could find. Now that they are not so hot however, the Bengals jerseys are rarely seen.

I was rooting for them when then went up against the Bears in SB XX back in 1986. If I'm on the bandwagon, it's been a really long trip.
