Any reptile can potentially bite, but ball pythons and corn snakes are generally very good tempered. Just do your homework and read a lot of caresheets on-line. Don't listen to what pet shops tell you--they often give out very wrong care info. Be prepared to provide everything the reptile needs and you won't be sorry or surprised with a lot of problems! I would recommend getting a green iguana.
Iguanas are 100% vegetarians so no need to feed any creepy crawlies. They dont have any smell, and dont poop alot, and if they do its usually in water. Iguanas are very easy to Bath-tub train also. You just have to put them in the tub everyday once they go (if they have to) then just pull the plug and your done.
They eat things like, romaine lettuce, kale, dandelion leaves, beet greens, veggies and fruits such as carrots, snow peas, grapes, blueberries, strawberries.
They only thing is, they can live to be 20-30 years old, and grow to be roughly 6 feet long. And if you dont get them used to being handled they can have a mean tail.
Thats what they get for being at the bottom of the food chain.
I personally think ball pythons are the perfect pet. change the newspaper once a week, bath every other day, feed a rat each week. and thats about it. Ball pythons almost never bite. Ive had mine for about a year and my boyfriends nephew carries it around all the time, and hes 3! (with supervision of course!) lol.
neither stink, or are too terribly difficult to take care of, but both are a big investment, after you buy the aquarium, or cage, heat lamps, hiding caves, food, it can be pricey, but i guess thats with all pets.
Goodluck

If you get a young ball python you will have very little chance of being bitten. These are the most docile snakes and if they are used to being held for a long time then they will be totally comfortable around humans, and even seem to want attention. Just remember that reptiles require a LOT of maintenance. This includes feeding of live food, heating, UVA/UVB lights, the proper substrate and weekly cleaning. If you think you are ready for that then go for it. My favorite lizard is the Chinese Water dragon. They get pretty large (not as big as an iguana) and they LOVE water, so you can spray them or build a little waterfall in their tank and they will play in it all the time. They never bite, and they love to be pet.

i have a coastal carpet python who is about 2 years old and about 5 foot long, he is a beautiful snake with a wonderful temperament he as never bitten or tried to bit me. he loves his cuddles and quite often curls up around the top of my arm and i go about my daily chores while he is there. if you get a snake the more you handle it when it is young the better temperament it will be as it grows. My snake eats large mice and we have also recently started him on week old chickens, he also loves 3-4 day old baby rabbits too. Snakes are the easiest and cleanest pets i have ever had.

all things with a mouth are capibal of biting. if you are intrested in getting a sanke i think u should start with a corn snake or a ball python. they are grate docile prts they may bite when there babies but it doesnt hurt but they can escape easily and if it gets out just watch your rabbit a corn snake wont harm it but im not sure of a ball pyton. and there cheap to look after u only feed them once a week

Another choice would be a turtle i have one and it is a really good pet..they eat pellets or lettuce and they are really east to take care of..but also a snake might bite but i am sure you could ask your pet store worker if it bites before you buy it and ask to hold it or something..

I had a red tailed Boa constrictor and he was the biggest sweet heart! i got him when he was a baby and handled him alot and he ended up LOV ING people. however the only time he bit anyone was when he bit my ex who was high on meth.. i think they can sense if someone is scared or if their pulse is racing and it freaks them out..however only you will know what reptile is right for you so do ALOT of research on it and go from there.....
P.S. if you get a snake remember that one day he may look at your bunny and think "LUNCH"
Godspeed
