There is only one kind of leopard gecko, however they do have a lot of different color varieties. It all depends on the geckos they were bred from.
If you are really interested in getting one then I would suggest going to this site, it has some amazing photos, and will tell you all about pro gecko care. :)
Also, when you are buying your gecko - be sure to check that it is healthy. Most Petco's I have been to don't take very good care of their animals, so check to see if it is lethargic (slow-moving),if any toes are missing/broken make sure they have healed properly, if it is shedding then check that it is shedding properly,(should NOT be coming off in small patches everywhere!!) and make sure it has no mucus around it's eyes or mouth. You might try PetSmart instead, and they can give you free care guides.
You can also rescue geckos sometimes from shelters - they REALLY need homes in shelters because most shelters just don't have the proper knowledge/equipment.
Have fun with your new lizard!!

actually where i live, its cheaper to get a baby leopard gecko from petco, then it is our local breeders. and I'm sorry to the rest of the ppl who have problems here with petco, but I'm a reptile nut that works there, and my animals DO come before n e thing else. our leos usually start at about $24.99, tend to go on sale for $15.99 at least every couple of months. our local breeder, if its a nice color will sell a baby at about $50-$90. (we also tend to get in a lot of albino, albino patternless, high yellow, and patternless)
they also offer, free care guides, a 15 day health guarantee (sick, dies, or any other reason you can think of)

Do not buy anything from petco as far as animals go. they are 2-3 times higher priced for their animals than any place else around. You will get a better deal and a healthier animal from a Local breeder or reptile related shop. Petco is a giant chain pet store, but that doesn't make their animals top quality, and it certainly doesn't make their animals worth more money. If anything being such a big chain you would think their prices would be cheaper, but they are definitely not. I refuse to shop there, just because they want $9.00 for a large rat, and you have to sign adoption papers just to get it. GET REAL. What the heck do they care what i do with it after getting their 3000% mark-up on the rat. Let see, large rat wholesale prices,( what they pay) $1.00. Thats quite a profit margin off a rat. Sorry got off track there, i just hate that place. And just so you know Leopard Geckos start at around $20.00 and go up by type of morph you buy. Normal useally start around $20.00. Check out Kingsnake.com there are hundreds of breeders and dealers at the bottom of the main page.

please don't buy a pet from petco!!! They don't mind selling a sick animal to you and then you are stuck with either a hefty vet bill or a dead pet. I got mice from there and they all died in like a week. And I've heard a lot of other people getting sick animals from there. You should find a breeder online and order whatever kind of leopard gecko that you want, and have it shipped overnight.
