I know alot of Americans are brainwashed by the corporate media and the low education standards.

I would like to know why Americans don't pull their heads out of their arses and see that both partys represent the same interests, and it sure as hell isn't their interests!

Because all this "freedom" we have is too stressful. Sometimes only 2 choices is nice. Makes us feel powerful.

"alot of Americans are brainwashed by the corporate media and the low education standards."

You just answered your own question. But I agree with you on the BS of the two party system. It's nothing but BS to think that we actually have a choice in this country. The corporations and corporate media have already chose our candidates and president for us.

Quite frankly it's because the other parties are well just a bit to interested in linear thinking. Green, Communist, Save the Three Headed Toad Party are a rather focused on complete change or only one. Until a third or fourth party emerges that embraces the U.S. citizens as a whole we are stuck with the two main parties.

Face it, politics in the USA is so corporate driven that it is virtually impossible for a third party to exist. Senators and Reps draw their life blood (money) from corporate interests and corporations dont want to mudy the water by adding choces. Serious electoral reform is needed before the political climate will allow a third option. Of course the ofice of President is open to anyone with a few hundred million to spend *S*

I would love to see a 3rd or 4th political party, but we have been trapped in this narrow: pro or con thinking with little or nothing in the way of shades of gray by the powers that be. The GOP and the Democrats do not want to see this happen, because it would be more work to govern by forming coalitions or maybe government by such as in other developed free democracies and no governement by default(i.e. when one party goes down, the other ends up governing by default wether they offer anything better or not). A multi-party system instead of the political oligopoly shared by the Republicans and the Democrats would be best, but it won't happen til we as a country and as a society free our minds from the narrow thinking of the powers that be, and a good amount of displacement by both parties would wake them up from being so lost and letting their respective political parties get away from them.

You answered your own question. Most of us are not very well educated particularly in the matter of politics. Most of us rely on the media for our knowledge of politics and government. The two party system is a grand dog and pony show. They may fight like cats and dogs for our amusement but in all matters of real importance they are quietly on the same agenda.

Honestly, what concern is it of yours how we run our country? We haven't bombed you yet. How about a nice round of applause from you for the fact that your family survived a German takeover thanks to us?
Other than that, its really not the American people that control it. These people are deft at polarizing this nation on particular issues and left or right you wind up with a split down the middle and no room to move. Now go tend to your own garden.

Uneducated and brainwashed, eh? You've won me over, Dale Carnegie!

I certainly am not going to heed the elitist, self-righteous, self-aggrandizing blowhard tweaks that populate the third parties.

What would it matter if there was a third or even a fourth party ?
All political parties eventually become nearly the same in corruption and ignoring the people.

You don't know what you are writing about. There are more than two parties in the US. Further, independents run for offices and some get elected.
