I never been there and booked a room but now not sure if I want to stay there because of some bad rating. People say that the hotel is old and dirty. Is this true? I have 3 kids and wanted to make sure if this is good for family with kids?

The Peppermill is not a good place for kids. Try Circus Reno. In fact, except for food and youth entertainment areas, no one under 21 by law should be in a casino.

While I have never stayed there, I do know that they are undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion right now, which includes a new (all-suite) hotel tower. You could try booking one of these rooms when they open.

As for whether it's suitable for kids, keep in mind that it's, first and foremost, a casino. There is a good-sized video arcade there to keep kids entertained, but that's about all there is for kids there.
