Form a study group with a few other serious students and begin to work together. Identify as a group what the important topics are, and which are the most important aspects of those topics. Share the workload by sharing notes and discussing ideas. Sometimes the best way to study is to discuss the topic.

Here are some suggestions.

1. Have all of your materials ready and in the place that you are going to study.

3. Study when its quiet. No music, no TV, No headphones, no nothing.

4. Do your most difficult subject fist or else you may never get to it.

5. Keep a calendar so that you know when a project is due or a test is going to be given.

6. Vocabulary is very important. Words have different meanings. You need to know the meaning for the subject that you are taking.

7. Study the relationship of things. How is the topic that you studied related to the unit that you are studying?

8. Your textbook has hints for you. Many books have important words or phrases in darkened or colored type, make sure that you know them thoroughly.

Every day re-write your notes while the information is fresh in your mind. Then, every week review all of your notes for the week. This way you will get exposure to the information in your notes 3 times, first when you take the notes, 2nd when you re-write the notes, and 3rd when you review the notes at the end of the week.

If you follow this process precisely (without exception) you will do very well in your studies.

Best wishes and good luck.

If your taking good notes you should be able to understand what you wrote, if you can't understand then you aren't taking good notes.
