a cowardly form of suicide? The Bible doesn't say that smoking is a more acceptable form of suicide, does it?

Any type of suicide is not courageous, if you think it's courageous, you need your head read. Oh and stop using the Bible to sell your twisted ideas.

Tobacco is not a form of suicide. I've never known anyone who lights up because they want to die. If you are ready to die, sorry it's not gonna do the trick for you. People smoke because it stimulates them to be more alert while also allowing them to vent a little frustration. It is a risky behavior, but so is riding in a car, eating junk food, or standing under a coconut tree. The Bible doesn't say driving is a more acceptible form of suicide, so I guess you should walk. But while walking carry an umbrella. Never can be too safe around falling coconuts...

You've seen it on the tv news:

That bad boy pursued by the cops blows his own head off before he can be captured and tried for a relatively minor offense, and we call him coward for not facing justice.

Now, had he been a courageous man, he'd have lit a cigarette (and perhaps called an attorney) instead, wouldn't he?

Your question seems misplaced here, by the way (as does my answer, now that I think on it). Could you explain to me how this is a question related to gender issues, or women's studies? I don't always see all of the connections clearly.

It depends. In some parts of the world, suicide is not considered a sin or a selfish act. People see it as a way of restoring honor. They failed at something or did something to disgrace their families so they commit suicide as a way to restore that honor. These typically are in societies where people don't get second chances when they screw up.

Yes and no. Suicide is almost always a very selfish act. I'd say it takes more courage to go with a slower suicide method, because you might never actually cause your friends/family to go to the funeral of a younger person that way.

Does it say unhealthy food, little exercises, working in a job with high rates of radiation, working to the point of high blood pressure, alcohol, pollution, etc. take more courage that committing suicide? What does the Bible say about all of those things? Do you take part in any of them?

I can't believe that this logic actually connects in your mind. Here you can ridiculous claims in anonymity but I would not say something like this in public. You will be viewed the fool.

Gosh, you remind me that I'd better tell that 92 year old woman in my singing circle that smoking kills, causes wrinkles, and ruins the voice ... there's hope for the old lady yet I tell you.

Your agruement is very weak. Many smokers live past 90 and some non-smokers die early.

Not all smokers die via smoking. In fact, many do not.
