I'm stuck. I thought "proglimate" or some version of this, spelling-wise, was a word, that meant to "further promote", for example: "The defamation of character she experienced was further proglimated by the actions her employer took to constructively dismiss her."
Obviously, I've checked an the word I'm using is incorrect -- if anyone has an idea of what I might be thinking of, that would be very much appreciated.

I think you might be thinking of "promulgated" (see link).

You've basically got the "g" and "m" backwards, it's promulgate.
