The right to keep and bear arms, and maintain militias was designed so no dictator, or dictatorial group could use the power of the State, (Police and Military), to subjegate the people. And they could defend themselves.

I live in Alaska. I'm afraid of being attacked and eaten by bears, or stomped to death by some other big game animal. I own guns to protect myself from potentially deadly animal encounters. When I lived in the lower 48, I never had problems with dark-skinned people, only white-skinned people. I was beaten by members of the KKK once and it was after that that I bought my first handgun. I'm white, in case you're wondering.

I don't think most Americans would believe that...at least, not in the words you used to ask the question.
However, among America's most observant and enlightened people, there is a strong awareness that private gun ownership is a powerful force, overall, to keep crime and violence DOWN, and not UP as the liberals would argue.
Bad people of any race or group just naturally want to lower their risks when they select their victim.

Yes I agree gun laws are way out of control in America and there are white black asian people using those guns on each other and for crimes. I agree with you totally that America has a huge problem with racism. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
Personally I do not believe in guns but if I did I would want to protect myself from small minded racists that grew up with hate and ignorance I know you would agree wouldnt you

Not really...but what's your definition of a 'dark-skinned' person? Anything darker than white is a person of color so from a White point of view that could be anyone that's not White.

No, not where I come from (Oregon).
