Lets say, by not watching or listening to your favorite team for the rest of the season (live, TV, radio, or internet), they will win the Stanley Cup, guaranteed.

Would you do it?

Davin: I thought of this one on my way home from work, just for you. It is my gift to you, my dear. I hope you like it.
One day, I will win you over. I was raised with class, therefore you will not get the satisfation of a superior disrespecting comeback. Good day to you, sir.

Great question!

Well, as much as its easy to say it, I don't know if I could go 3/4 of a season AND the playoffs without watching/reading about the Bolts. I just couldn't do it. If the Lightning were one win away from winning the cup, I AM going to be there.

DAVEN - Lighten up, will ya?

I couldn't do it. I'll watch other teams on CBC for sure, but I need a Wings fix twice a week. Maybe they still have a chance even if I watch? Could that be worked into the fine print? This would be funnier than hades: "Hey Theo, did you see Red Wings tonight?"
"No, I'm too busy helping them win the Stanley Cup!"

I would, however, forsake a FEW games if we can sweep the Blackhawks for the rest of the season! Ouch.....

does hearing about the game from people, reading the papers, watcing recaps count?? (*PLZ SAY NO*) what about if your "following" the teams that play your team?? aanh?? e.g. i follow Leafs but im "following" the Canadiens(this doesnt even feel right) when they are playing the leafs. get it??
i would do it. hell, i dont know if the Leafs would be able to win another Stanley Cup in my life(& im only 17!!), so at least once they win it, i can watch the celebration & watch recaps over recaps of the series. but you're gonna have to give me a very tight schedule so i dont have any free time to watch t.v. or you're gonna have to take away the t.v., radio, & the computer in order for me to not watch/listen!!

nice question!!

I could not do it, I generally watch most of their games. To go a full season without hockey during the lockout is one thing but to miss an entire year when other people are watching.
NOOoooooo.........Suffering withdrawal symptoms at the thought. Got the "shakes"- can't type cant' speel.

I enjoy the game too much, winning the cup would be great but they have 24 already, I can wait a few more years.

No, because i am big sports fan and your leaving me with the Pistons, and Lions. I haven't watched a full Pistons game in 2 years. It puts me to sleep. The Lions haven't seen a Superbowl since they entered the NFL. Plus they flushed Barry Sanders career down the potti. They got a big game tomorrow against Green Bay. Anyways Happy Thanksgiving folks.

Well of course, although I have the unfair advantage that I don't watch many games due to working nights. Seriously though even if I watched all the games I'd give that up to have them win the Stanley Cup, as long as I can still read about it and can still watch the highlights when all is said and done. I mean honestly I'd give up watching highlights up until they won the Cup, but I want to see the highlights of them having won it.

can i watch the rest of the league at least or is it 0 hockey for rest of season... ill listen to the broadcast on the radio of the opposing team, therefore not listening to my team play :)

think that no yahoo answers hockey might be hardest part cause what i use to make the day go by while working and so much info dealing with most of the teams on here that it might be a violation.

This question is evil......

OK, so why do we watch hockey? We watch it because it entertains us. If our team wins, we get entertained more. But if our team wins, and we don't watch them win; we don't get entertained. It's kind of a vicious cycle. I'd love the Avs to win, but what's the point if I can't watch it? I'd still say I'd go for it though, it would be awesome to see the Avs win again.

Couldn't do it.

I'd love my Black Hawks to win the Stanley Cup, but I'm a big enough hockey fan that I just love the game and enjoy seeing whomever hoists it do so in June.

I was dishearted to see Denis win a Cup as a Canadien, but still happy that Denis won.

That would depend. Could I watch highlights and keep track of scores? If so yes.
