First off, don't assume what I am thinking. I never stated an opinion. If you haven't noticed I am liberal myself.

Really extra-fanatical religious conservatives, I guess. But then, they probably believe that anyone not propperly indoctrinated into thier specific sect worships the devil, too. I wouldn't be too concerned about the opinions of such a lunatic fringe.

It is true, however, that there are more secular humanists and other atheists among liberals than conservatives. Conservatives are big on tradition, liberals big on breaking with tradition, and nothing is quite as tradition-heavy as religion. Even when liberals are religious, they tend towards minor heresies - re-examining scripture, altering practices, 'reforming' churches, and so forth.

Not true. But about 90% of educated atheists lean left at least. There are some notable exceptions.Once you know that there is no white father in the sky blessing the good and causing natural disasters on the evil and protecting your country.... you develop a true sense of morality. Until then you're a tribal member.

Only someone who is grossly misinformed would even hint at that. I know many liberals who are church going people. When we separate church and state we seem to find a variety of people not linked to a very narrow ideology and find that the world is full of diversity.

(In college I had a class member who was a die hard Republican and she was a proud athiest. I also know a few Bible thumpers who vote Democratic.--just personal experience)

Why do you think we are atheist, because we don't run around being hypocrite about God coming and telling us we should run for President , start a war and kill our troops and innocent Iraq people, don't go to church when prayer is being said looking around to see who we can wave at. We don't get calls from God on the telephone like Pat Robertson telling us liberals are Atheist and give our church all the money in Washington. No we don't do that, but Atheists we are not, just not a big bunch of crazy hypocrites. It makes wonder if all Republicans aren't atheist hypocrites lying about their religion, are Republicans atheists, are all of you Atheists. hmmnnn makes one wonder.

who's a 2 dimensional logician? issues are no longer somewhat as black and white as your question indicates. I easily have voted liberal on account that i began out balloting. i'm a training Catholic and have taught my little ones and grandchildren to have a faith in God. i do no longer choose your faith rammed down my throat and that i do no longer choose to ram mine down yours. i'm offended via you mockery of my faith and have little admire on your narrow mindedness. I easily have very few pals who're atheists. i understand very many religious and non secular liberals. there may be some people who have self assurance 911 grew to become into planned via human beings. there are a lot of human beings and not basically liberals who understand that Bush's efforts to combat actual terrorists have been ineffective on account that he stopped going after Bin weighted down and scuffling with a phony war on terror in Iraq. i understand there are terrorists and that i could choose to be sure them extra to justice.
