In class, I was given the poem "the road not taken" on a photocopied handout. How do i cite the poem for my essay? Do I cite a website that has the poem on it, or do i cite the book that it was originally published in (in 1916).?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I understand that the best way to cite my poem from the handout is to merely say in Robert Frost's poem "..." (line x), but my teacher wants a works cited.

Just cite the poem itself. If you mention the title and the poet in the essay, all you need to do for a quotation is to cite the line number.
