Blacks are pretty, beautiful and cool in all shades of skin tones, I'm getting sick and tried that Halle Berry, Rahinna and other ligher skin African-Americans to represent the beauty of the black race.
This is coming from a lighter skin black woman, I'm getting tried of these dark skin or brown skinned black men looking at me because I'm light skin Black woman and they think they can have kids by me so there kids can come out light skin.

I want to have kids by a black man with my skin tone but thats what I believe in that blacks should stick with blacks that have there own skin tone like: Light skin with Light Skin, Caramel with Caramel and So On in the black race if they dating within there own race.

I don't think Lighter skin is the best and more Attractive but I think everyone has the best skin tone it don't matter if you light or not.
Look at Beyonce she is lighter then me but Jay-Z going with her because she is light skin and he want to have kids with her so his kids can be lighter.
Thank God that her sister married a light skin black man because they have the same skin tone and it should be that way.

I understand where you are coming from. There seems to be a stigma that lighter skin means more beautiful - but it doesn't. Beautiful is beautiful.

They are not the only people who represent the Black race. You are only seeing what and who you want to see.
What about Oprah? She is a gorgeous Black woman - and not that light skinned. Iman, Tracy Chapman - there are a million beautiful women who are not as light as Halle or Rihanna.
As for Black men looking at you for only one reason, you apparently are dating the wrong guys.
ADD: Oh my Good Lovin' Lord! I just read the additional details - people with the same skin tone should pro-create together? That is how it should be? WRONG! How it should be is that children have parents who love them - who cares about skin color?? Take a genetics class and you will find that it isn't necessarily a promise that if you have children with someone of a lighter color, the child will be born that way.

Something is wrong with you get help, quick! It is not that serious the light skin and dark skin debate. It is just skin color. It doesn't make you more attractive than others because you have light skin. Secondly, the argument that only light skin black people can have "beautiful" children is false and self hating. Your still black. You are stuck on yourself and need to grow up. You give black people, light, medium, and brown skin a bad name.

I can't answer for anyone else but I can say I don't care what color anyone's skin is. race and good looks have very little to do with each other. Every race has it's attractive people as well as ugly ones. The only skin color that does not look good is red. Any native Americans reading this can calm down, I am talking about sunburn.

You know the saying 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'? Well, it seems like now-a-days beauty is in the eye of marketers, which is quite sickening. Personally, I have not noticed this branch of singling out one certain group and portraying them as beautiful, but not others, but I have noticed many other types of this. Now that you mention it though, I can see where your coming from, with stars like the ones you've mentioned, but also, the more I think about it, there are quite a few darker skinned ladies who are huge in the media! Take Jennifer Hudson for example! Or Tyra Banks, Essence Atkins and Oprah! These are all stunning women of power!
Also, don't be ashamed by the color of your skin! There are some (extremely ignorant and disgusting) people who care about skin color, but the a lot of people don't, I know I don't!
Best of luck!
Edit: The things that you edited in are absurd. I mean, have you never seen on, like, Dr. Phil and those documentary shows where racists are always saying stuff like "People should date within their own race"?! They are racist because they think stuff like that. They don't see every one as equal. Think about that and then about what you've said, similar? YES!

True, but I don't know what to say or do. People are going to go after what is beautiful or what society says is beautiful, and thats lighter skinned people. I would be considered brown skinned and I am perfectly fine with those superficial people(especially our men) looking over me because thats NOT the type of people I would want to surround myself with, much less have a child with.

Just be glad the men are looking. There are a lot of women who wouldn't mind being looked at regardless of what color man was doing the looking. And of all the men I know looking at women, they're not thinking about what color babies you'll have. They haven't gotten past figuring out how to get into your pants. And with your attitude you should take what you can get, because the comments you make about same skin tones staying together are ignorant. And I don't know a lot of men who will stick around to listen to that kind of nonsense.

For once Kelis you are making some sense. I agree with you. Black people come in many skin tones so they shouldn't only be showing light skinned ones on T.V.

I'm sorry that you feel that way, and I can see your point. There are hardly no exceptions to what you say....especially to confirm the beauty of dark-skinned black women. The only person I can think of is Naomi Campbell.
I hope that perhaps you can marry somebody who's very dark, so your children can perhaps be darker.

Yeah, I think it is very insulting that Hollywood and the media don't glorify darker complected women like the lighter ones. It pisses me off, and I am white. The reason I am personally offended is because they set an unattainable standard for all women to live up to... Perfection. I appreciate beauty in all of it's forms. I wish America did too, because America sets the standard for beauty in many parts of the world. It's very sad.

Then why do you want to date white men? With your philosophy they should only date white women. But I don't believe you are black (light "skinned" or whatever) or a woman. I think you are an "it".
