Just wanted to say have a Happy Turkey day to all of those weekday YA junkies out there!!

And we'll throw in a fun question for good measure:
Pick one player of past NFL glory and one presently playing that you'd love to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with, and tell me why!

Past: Jerry Rice. He's one of my favorite players ever, got me hooked on football as a tyke. He's also the first jersey I ever owned
Present: Big Ben. We could bond over our mutual love of Suzuki motorcycles and all things Steelers.

Anyone who answers McNabb for any reason other than to throw mashed potatos at him is automatically out of the BA running! :) Sorry Bill

In the past, Jerome Bettis. I would love to pick his brain of how he stayed consistent for so many years.
Present- Hines Ward of course. Not only is he the best all around receiver in football, but he does great work in the community. He's also my favorite player. Happy Turkey day to you too! Go Steelers!

Irish heritage and we eat Thanksgiving dinner in mid-afternoon, around 3:00 or 3:30.

Thank you Ashley, and Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
Hmmm, tough question as there are so many from the past.

Past: Three-way tie. Bob Griese, Don Shula, and Dan Marino. Bob and Don, the QB and coach of the only team in NFL history to go undefeated and win the NFL Championship, as of right now, and the first team to go to 3 Super Bowls in a row. Would ask them about the pressures of the game then, and how the game has changed. Griese's jersey was the first one I ever owned, back in 73. Shula, the winningest coach in NFL history......nuff said.
Marino, such a competitor. Best QB to never win the Super Bowl. Quickest release. Just ask all them DLmen who thought they had a sack just to see a TD scored.

Present- Troy Polamalu. Have to go with my boy from the REAL USC!! FIGHT ON!! He plays with the same disciplined rage the Ronnie Lott used to.

If I had to pick a current player, I probably would have to go with John Lynch. I played safety in high school and college, and my coaches always compared me to him. He seems as if he is one of the nicest guys in the league, and he has his priorities in the right order. He also is a fierce competitor and a hardass on the field - the kind of guy everyone respects. I think he'd be an awesome guy to have a beer and watch the game with.

If I had to choose all time, I'd probably go with Joe Namath, but I'd only hang out with him tonight. He wouldn't be invited over for dinner tomorrow lol. He's one of the legendary partiers (known for staying out well into the mornings of game days), and he seems like he'd be fun to have around. We'd party hard into the morning, possibly fist fight, and then most likely try to hook up with sports anchors. Good times will be had by all.

Past: Barry Sanders. First of all, to me.. he's the greatest RB of all time and retired far too early. I'd like to really know why he did that, and have read his life story. The only NFL jersey I own, is his.( I'm a NY Giants fan too!)

Present: Tom Brady seems like he'd be the most fun, and I'm going to say he'd bring a date that would NOT hurt the day having around the table, either.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, and all, as well.

I would be honored to dine with the Manning family. Archie at the head of the table, Mrs. Manning opposite and the boys (Peyton, Eli, John) and their families sitting across and next to me.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all in the coming New Year.

Past: Andre Tippett. He was great. He is on Boston radio periodically and is articulate and intelligent on matters of football.
Current: Mark Mangino. They're have a fantastic year and with him at the table, that pumpkin pie might look better without the whipped cream

Past: Troy Aikman. I've always wanted to meet Troy Aikman and he was a Cowboys legend. He seems like a pretty neat person.

Present: Tony Romo. He seems like a cool person as far as I can tell. I'd have a lot of stuff to talk to him about. lol
