In my opinion... North, Central and South America should have one solid week of holidays together so that everyone could celebrate something internationally.... It could be between Christmas and NewYears and be called "International Friendship Week".... with pay of course.. :)))

When I was in Canada I celebrated Thanksgiving three or four times a year. The official Canadian Thanksgiving is the first Monday in October, the American is the fourth Thursday in November. Each parish set its Harvest home according to its harvest, everywhere from early September to mid November. With four points on my Gaspé parish, this meant four successive weeks, my Ontario parish had two points with different harvests, one in mid September for sweet corn, tomatoes, and early greens (also puffballs and morels, great mushrooms) and one in mid October for winter vegetables, squash, pumpkins, cabbages, broccoli, brussel sprouts, etc. The church would be decorated and the rector received the fruits and vegetables used. One simply can't celebrate something so good too often. We'd cross the border to keep American Thanksgiving with relatives. Usually Canadian Thanksgiving was kept with one of our parish families. There was also the blessing of the fleet, planting crosses, and soil and seed at Rogation, the fifth Sunday after Easter as well as St. Francis day for blessing the animals, October 4..

Hi sweetheart Moon . . . . . anytime is a good time to celebrate Thanksgiving. This time of year when the fall leaves have fallen, it is cool outside and the fireplace is roaring with the aroma of apple and pumpkin pies baking. Families traditionally get together, the official kick off of the holiday season. But . . . . . when my sister and her family, as well as myself returned from Hawaii in August, we had a Thanksgiving dinner. My brother in law said, Nance, you aren't going to be around, let's have Thanksgiving, and did we ever inviting 30 people to the table around the neighborhood, it was fantastic. So, that being said, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, including our wonderful Canadian neighbors . . . . . adore Canada! Blessings . . . . . .

Moon,
go right ahead - it is OK with me!
I am a little confused however, as I saw another answer of yours earlier today where you stated you lived in Brazil - I recalled earlier a cool Canadian flag that was attached your Avatar.
Maybe I was just going crazy or something!
Gerry :)
Edit Update: Moon - YOU are so cool! I really dig you, but as you know I do not spend any time in the R&S arena that I have noticed you sometimes partake in - this isn't a "dig" on you, only please never take offense to my not answering "those" questions.
Best to you my friend!
Gerry :)
Second Edit Update: Moon, I posed a question for you - could you please review through my Avatar.
Have a wonderful day!
Gerry :)

Moon my dear,
Contrary to recent politics, Canada doesn't want to be America's newest state. We like having our separate Thanksgiving apart from anyone elses. Thanks for inviting us, but we'll wait until next year to invite you to ours okay?
I still love you though!!

You can celebrate it with us Americans, its pretty much the same holiday, just celebrated for different events.
And you don't need a holiday to give your thanks to someone, let them know either way!
