It depends, in what way you are intelligent. You can be intelligent and yet very sad because you are intelligent, because you understand better then others the consequences, or the sadness or the reality around you or the people themselves. There are many ways you can be sad and yet you can also be happy when you try to keep a balance.

Its only our thoughts that make us happy or unhappy, not our circumstances (be it wealth or otherwise), also try to live in the moment, respect ourselves and try find humour in every day events.
Do any of the above require high or low intelligence? Happiness is more of an attitude then a situation, so being rich or stupid should not really have any bearing on it

Hi Zim,
I dont think so , True Happiness comes from deep within , when you are satisfied with what you have and with things around you. Intelligence is essential to live comfortably to todays society and yes does have an influence in wealth , but how often do we see people who are wealthy yet unhappy.
I guess the saying ignorance is bliss does have some truth in it...

like wealth, it can have either a very positive or negative effect on happiness
sometimes if someone with a high intelligence doesnt make the effort to develop a high spiritual side, they might be sad
of course, its all in what a particular society views as high intelligence
a really high intelligence would be well rounded, or of atleast looked at many things in life and decided to embrace or discard them, and thus would be happy, whether wealthy or not, also, its so individual, what my interpretation of well rounded would be, what happiness would be, wouldnt have to be someone elses,

Other than feeling happy because you think you are intelligent, I'd have to say no. When a baby giggles in delight it is a very primitive instinct and evidence that the child feels happy even if it has no clue why. Happiness is really not that complicated a state of being. It is something you have to allow rather than seek.

Not necessarily, I've seen a lot of moderate and even poor people who is happy all the time. It's really a matter of how you interpret the happiness itself. I've witnessed a poor boy who was very happy when he bought himself a coke...He drank it like it was the water from the fountain of youth. Conversely, highly intelligent people usually (not all) eager to prove themselves better then the others, hence the level of happiness for him increases through the time...

"The Biology of Transcendence," Joseph Chilton Pearce, "Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, Ph.D., and http://www.heartmath.org are some indications that the 1,000 times stronger biofield around the heart's love, bliss, and happiness in healthy biofields properly leads, in-forms, mentation, not the other way 'round.
Intelligence is in-telling, which assuredly is a balance of love, wisdom (wise dominion), and power (God's will).
You might enjoy reading "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, "Men in White Apparel" and "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, and "Light Is a Living Spirit," "Man, Master of His Destiny," and "A Philosophy of Universality," O. M. Aivanhov.

I'm never intelligent and content, let alone happy. I don't know if that answers your question, but I have random chemicals to drink.
