During the "hippy" era many people wanted to give their children "relevant" names that expressed expanded awareness or raised social consciousness. Names that incorporated "moon" were popular for girls. So were names that were inspired by earth forces. Sky(e), Rain(e), Autumn, Lilac, Daisy, Luna, Sunshine, and Harmony are all names some of my friends gave their daughters during that time. Not too long ago I ran into a 30-ish woman named Justice. If you take a moment to look at some of the more popular themes of that era, some obvious names begin to emerge.
