i need to read a book that has been BANNED or CHALLENGED about mystery, crime, horror, suspense, anything along the guidelines of mystery... any ideas>?? please help!!!!!! thank u sooo much :)

I wish I knew how old you are.
A crime book that was challenged years ago is Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood," but it's not a book for a young person, in my opinion.
"The Da Vinci Code" (that spelling looks wrong to me!) by Dan Brown was challenged by a lot of people as far as any basis in facts go... apparently Brown says a lot is true and others very much disagree. I never read it, but I think it might be better than Capote's book as far as 'not too rough' goes. Though I dunno-- there were some pretty strange previews for the movie.
Now I come to a point I often reach in my own research, and that is to go to the library and ask a trained librarian to help you with choosing a book for this project. They will know so much more, and the books will be right there to check out.
At any rate, no matter if you see a title here that appeals to you, you might want to ask a librarian or teacher if it's okay for you.
