What has happened to seniors? I used to like?
to come here and have a laugh, now we all block everyone in case they are the undercover reporter's who gets us violations and suspended. We have all made our accounts private, what a shame I blame the trolls, and the reporters who reported us for a spelling mistake and I see they are still on here.

It would seem that it takes very few to make a mess of such a fun thing. One Troll, known to all the areas here, has made it his business to do as much damage as possible here...and many have left or been banned due to Yahoo's continued indifference to what goes on here..it would be so easy just to ban the IP address of the troll, for it is the same troll who has wrecked so many sites here. If that is Yahoo's intent, they are succeeding beyond their wildest imaginations. Seniors have little patience when it comes to nasty people...we have dealt with them our entire lives, and many choose to NOT deal with this crap...we do have lives outside Yahoo, and good ones at that. I block only trolls, report only trolls...and trolls are very obvious in what they do and how they act. Many of the older seniors had no experience with trolls and rather than fight a battle that is stupid, they left in disgust...I cannot blame them. When what was fun is no longer fun, why bother? I only joined y/a in October and so I am not really sure about trolls or how to recognize them. Still I suppose I will learn. I used to hang about in the R/S but it got so heavy and too much like a war zone. Now I love the Seniors it it much more fun, I say what I feel from the heart and I would not like to have to guard against this. I am a pretty open person so I just hope I dont get stung.
So thanks for the warning, I shall watch out for these nasty critters.

I've been using YA for a few months and it's true, there have been changes in the "atmosphere" of the Senior Citizens category. Be patient and keep doing your questions and answers here. There are a bunch of regulars who check in once in a while and make it worthwhile.

I made my account private too and got rid of all my contacts. Sad to say but that is necessary for survival. It took some of the fun out of it. Kind of lonely now.

I am very disappointed I don't get violated and have been blocked only once since I joined Y/A. It hardly seems fair, there are you lot being violated all over the place and here's me like the spare part at the wedding(its just occurred to me that I might be asking for trouble but never mind)

We've noticed a pattern to do with the troll activity on here. It is approximately a month since they last kicked off big style so perhaps they have serious PMT. All us ladies know that if you hang about in a group it is likely that your periods synchronise with each others which is why there is a lot of troll activity in one big lump. Of course, there will be the odd stragglers who won't fit in anywhere so their cycles will not be synchronised but hey, that happens.
If there's a troll who has had enough of their hate-filled life-style and wants a bit of rehab....try Evening Primrose Oil capsules....they work wonders on PMT!

The seniors are still here, just don't let it all hang out as much and observe before joining in. Hate to see all the private accounts (mine is too) -- it don't take many rotten apples to ruin a winters supply of canning. May Karma prevail

At any rate lead with the chin and keep the faith,,,, we're all in this together.

I've noticed it's changed since I first came to this site. It can get quiet stressful at times and we all already have enough of that in life. I was told early on to make my account private, due to the reasons you mention. Still I enjoy the questions and answers here and there are some very wonderful folks I'd miss if I left.

Most of us have stuck it out. We just try to report all the horrible questions that the trolls asks about other members. Or report anybody that is impersonating one of our members. So, be on the look out for that also. I know Southern Comfort and I have both had impersonators. We still laugh. Fisherman has kept me smiling all day.Happy Thanksgiving!

What is a "troll"
I get frustrated when I would like to offer a friendly comment to someone and there is no private way but if they say no emails well, I guess they don't want the likes of me adding my little bit.
I had one of my answers cut off but when I thought about it well I guess it had come out rather differently and could have been taken as offensive

I think you put this question exactly where it should be.

I am missing my old friends too. Let's hope they are just busy making preparations for Thanksgiving. I have not been here much this past week, due to minor problems, but I have noticed some of our friends are not around. Anyway, school is out this week and I think they are waiting until next week to ask or answer questions.

Best wishes. Most of us are still here.

Happy Thanksgiving to you.
