Our current administration can find the money to kill people because they see it as an investment to actually make more money. This administration has covered up FDA clinical trial research for drugs because Bush was tied to the drug company and it would effect profits. He crusades for war and spends US dollars for it because he and Cheney have interests in war contracts and oil companies. He has covered up and reduced guideline requirements for USDA to distribute diseased and unhealthy meat because it would cost his supporters too much money in testing and lost distribution. Whether it is war, tainted meat, FDA cover-ups it is all about the money. Spending US dollars to help people is not his objective because it would not increase the size of his wallet.

Reality Check! Last time I looked at human history, the only way to stop someone who's trying to kill you is to kill them.
It isn't politically correct, but then reality never is.
Don't try the usual, "It's Bush's fault we were attacked" line either. The first attack against us happened in 1993, and was followed by a dozen more in the next eight years. The only difference now is that we have an administration that isn't ignoring the problem.
As to helping people, if you look at ALL levels of government spending, we spend seven times as much on social programs as we do on the military.
If we stopped all military spending tomorrow, the increase in spending on social programs would be too small to even notice.
Try getting your information from someplace that deals in facts, not from youtube.

I'm sorry, but you're terribly misinformed regarding the immunization policies in western countries. In the United States, infants receive 1 vaccine at birth (HepB), and 5 other vaccines (Rotavirus, DTaP, Hib, PCV and IPV) at 8 weeks - the ****same vaccines**** which are being administered in Africa. Other western countries have a similar schedule - and there is plenty of studies on the safety of vaccines if you take the time to research it.

You can't help those who won't help themselves. Until we can weed out those abusing the welfare system it is pointless. It has become easier for a lot of people to collect a welfare or ss check all the while complaining about having to phone in to collect it than it has for them to actually get out of the house and get a job. Some have generations of family on welfare and their elders teach them how to beat the system. As long as we have that going on , we will always have a problem. As far as finding the money to kill people, I don't know who our gov't kills here although I've heard that the Clintons have a hit list. If you are talking about the war, then I would rather spend the money to fight the terrorists on their soil than on ours. If you object to that then maybe you should tell them where you live so they can finish the war in your back yard. Nothing personal. Just tired of people complaining about the headlines but not reading the story.

Just look at some of these answers.
Well, I guess it won't be long now....this country is going to be attacked. And reading some of these answers, I can sure see why. It's so hard for me to accept the sheer hatred and meanness of some people.
And to that poster who said, "rather my money go into a war"
Well, be careful what you ask for, you might get it.

Then we agree Medicade, Social Security, Welfare, and such programs are worthless and should be eliminated because they in fact do not help people and are a drain on American tax payers.
Secondly America provides health care for everyone it is against the law to deny anyone help, we just don't provide free healthcare, come on people let me hear the screams of joy for the 35% tax increase we will need to pay for it

It takes a very long time to see a return when you invest in people. However when you kill, depending upon motivation the return on your investment is almost instantaneous.
To answer your question, our leaders are short sighted

Define help first. Many people think that welfare, social security, national healthcare, and federal bail-outs are help. I would rather my money go to fund a war. The government wants to take control of all aspects of our lives. We are becoming a communist-socialist country and we seem to keep giving them more power over our lives under the guise of "help". The government is creating a large group of people who depend on them for "help". If by help you mean creating programs that teach people how to get some of the abundant of jobs out there and earn their own way. Show people how to save for retirement and we would not need social security as it stands now. Give us some of our tax money back and let us competitively shop for our own health insurance. If the government really wants to help, they can start by not telling its people that they believe they are too stupid to take care of themselves. Tax money should only be spent on infrastructure and national security.

Killing is far more profitable. The GOP supporting corporations have already made more money off of Iraq than any other war in history.

Because we don't vote for those kinds of leaders. We vote for those the media wants us to vote for. You know the ones that work for the war and oil industry already.
